1. Discuss Diction - Voice Lesson
2. Revision 1 - “Self-editing” - check out laptops - “to be” verbs on board? passive vs active, sentence variety ALWAYS HAVE A HARD COPY OF YOUR ESSAY IN HAND |
1. Read “The Age of the Essay”
2. Vocabulary memory devices - (Mrs. Tuchfarber -draw pictures only), pictures, write a sentence. In Vocabulary Notebooks - due Wednesday 3. No current event this week 4. Mrs. Tuchfarber's class - finish First Revision, including rewriting 3 sentences in your Writer's Notebooks and making revisions. Bring another REVISED copy of your college essay to class tomorrow. 5. Mrs. Jenemann's class - read and annotate "The Age of the Essay." Vocabulary - memory devices, write a sentence (due Wednesday). Revision - finish through step 5 (be prepared to show me Tuesday). |
TUESDAY

1. Collect/Check “The Age of the Essay” - QUICK discussion or activity
2. Writer’s Groups - we place in groups of 4 - explain purpose of group/will stay in group all year. Peer rubric. Before they come to conference with us, catch the little things. Catch the easy fixes in your groups. ALWAYS HAVE A HARD COPY OF YOUR ESSAY IN HAND |
1. Vocabulary memory devices - draw pictures, write a sentence. In Vocabulary Notebooks - due Wednesday
2. Mrs. Jenemann's class -- also complete the learning styles survey. |
