Obama's speech was focused highly on pathos and he used repetition of buzzwords such as "children", "death", and "tragedy". I believe that he should have used a much more logos focus in his speech. His speech was very moving and heart wrenching but it didn't focus on the facts, it was persuasive when it should have been informative. He danced around the actual topic and repeated death tolls, child casualties, and chemical weapons.

The speech given by Obama about the issues in Syria was very powerful and compelling. He used death tolls as a solid base for a lot of accusations. Saying how wrong and terrible the whole ordeal was. Continually he used pathos to explain the need to take action, using words like 'tragedy', 'crimes against humanity', 'attack', and constantly addresses us as 'the United States of America' or 'citizens of America'. He also uses plenty of logos to tell about the death tolls along with the history of chemical warfare and the pressing issues in Syria. And ethos is established previously because he's the president and is surrounded with symbols of America. Along with his comment of, "That’s my judgment as Commander-in-Chief. But I’m also the President of the world’s oldest constitutional democracy". Hes establishing himself as someone important and influential. All of these things are informing Americans in a light that makes it seem as though we must take action instead of giving just a common information press release.

Obama's speech on Syria was highly potent and influential explained the high death toll of not just soldiers, but women and children. He explained how Syria was using Chemical warfare that was banned because of it's consequences, to release a deathly poisonous gas. However Syria wanted to kill as many people as they could with the poison gas that now fills the air and ground.

This speech is talking about Syria and how they are killing people using gas. 1000 people have died from this. He compares it to the holocaust. All this happened after they signed a peace treaty saying they wouldn't use chemical warfare. My personal opinion on this matter is he needs to be more focused on what's going on here since its obvious Syria doesn't even want our help. I think this is just going to make everything worse and they will kill many people from America next for us butting in.

This speech mainly focused on what is going on over in Syria. They have gassed a lot of people, from which 1,000 people have died that included not only adults, but also children. Obama compared this to the Holocaust since thousands of people were also killed by gassing. He also stated how harmful these gas trenches are and how it is very easy to kill thousands of people at a time. Obama is worried about all of the gasses that are filling the air and and ground.

Before watching this video, I wasn't really informed much about the Syria issue. This video to me does a great job of explaining the debate of the issue. After only watching a 15 minute video, I am very informed and feel concerned for Syria's fate. Not only does the discussion of war spark an issue, but the fact that gas and chemical weapons were used sparks an even bigger concern and feeling of fear. People of the U.S.A shouldn't be scared about attacks on the U.S., but the chemical gas really does make someone think and put themselves in the shoes of the citizens in Syria.
