I actually really liked this book. It was very interesting reading about someone trying to live away from most people since that is not something we get to read much about. I would definitely recommend this book to others. It moves very fast, it's interesting, and it is not impossible to read. I liked this book more than I liked Quiet. It was much more interesting and actually captured my attention.

This book was much better than I had expected it to be. Right from the start by talking about the original story of David and Goliath and he went into much more depth with it then just saying the little man beat the bigger man. This book basically depicts of what one has to be like in life and talks about how you must learn how to overcome the misfortunate events and be able to come back stronger from then if you want to make the world work how you want it to work. I would most definitely recommend it to others, and this was my first choice of book and I'm glad that I received it.

The book A Mighty Long Way was a better book then what I expected of it. The impact on how society has diversed since this time period makes me really appreciate what I have. I would most definitely would recommend this to someone because I think it puts off a powerful message and an amazing story line. This book was my first choice.

My overall response to the book was good. I found the book to be thrilling at certain times, however during 80% of the book it was slow and kinda dull. I would recommend it to my friends but inform them that it can be dull if you don't enjoy his writing style. I would recommend it to them because it is a good book with a good message of "A person may seem happy with the life they are currently living but they might long for an adventure". I prefer my first choice of Outliers written by Malcolm Gladwell because it changed stories each time. Although Into the Wild changes stories, some stories are slower than others making it hard to connect to, however, Outliers connects each story with the idea that nobody just works hard to receive success.

Nathan Smith - Quiet

Quiet was sort of what I expected it to be, a long analysis of introverts and extroverts. At the beginning it seemed to be interesting, but as the book progressed it became sort of repetitive and became a book I had to read instead of wanting to read. I feel as if the information in this book could be condensed into a 20 page packet and still get across the same point with less "beating around the bush". I wouldn't recommend this book for everyone, only introverts and I would only tell them to read the first few sections. Between Unbroken and Quiet, I found Unbroken to be more entertaining throughout, so I liked reading that more.

Dream New Dreams overall is an interesting book. I stayed interested throughout the entire book trying to understand with all Pausch's struggles when helping with her husbands cancer and coping with her life after his death. I would recommend this book because she shows a point of view that life moves past the struggles and everything will be alright in the end even dealing with a disease as horrible as cancer. I enjoyed this book more than my first choice; Quiet, this book keep me more interested and had more meaning to life than my first pick.

I found Dream new Dreams by Jai Pausch very interesting and inspiring. The way Pausch writes is a way to make readers truly relate to her scenario. I would recommend this book to others because of its extreme reliability. Unfortunately many people have dealt with a loved one who has suffered from cancer and can relate to Pausch's stress and daily struggles she deals with while being a caregiver and steal having real world responsibilities to handle as well. I highly enjoyed the book and would recommend taking the time to read it.

The book "A Mighty Long Way" was a great book. It was very moving, and made me feel empowered, like I can do anything I put my mind to! I would most definitely recommend this book to others, its very motivational. I prefer this book over my first one, the first book i chose was just statistics, but this book actually told a story, and a good one at that!

My overall response from this book was that I received a more "eye-opening" experience about fast food and what exactly goes into its production. I found the book to be very statistical, and somewhat moving. The author seemed to care deeply about the subject, and was very moving at times, but he seems to care about the subject much more than I do. I found the book to very similar to "Freakonomics", the other book I read early in the year. Both books used extensive statistics and separated different topics into different sections in the book. I would recommend this book to anyone that had a desire to learn about the topic, or enjoyed statistics and numbers being used in arguments. If the reader enjoyed Freakonomics, or even the movie "Food Inc.", they will enjoy this book no doubt. I preferred this book to my others because it was the most interesting by far and it was very similar to my first reading project.

Overall, this book left me shocked and surprised. I never truely understood the horror that this tragic event inscribed into the nation. The in-depth analysis of the shooting as well as the characters kept my attention and I found it as a page turner wanting to know more. I would recommend this book highly to those who enjoy knowing the motives behind events because it goes through nine years of evidence put together in a logical fashion. I enjoyed the story line and the powerful writing of this book more so than Quiet because Quiet tended to repeat itself. Columbine presented a greater emotional appeal to me, and I enjoyed reading.

My overall response to Into Thin Air was that the book is that I now do not believe that Mt. Everest is a majestic or a beutiful challenge. I now beleave that it is a death trap that is to dangerous to attempt to climb. I found the first half of the book lacking, however it picked up in the second half. Once the author actualy began to climb the mountain, the story picks up and it climaxs on the way down from the sumit. People are dissapearing left and right on the trip down due to a strong storm. I would not nessisarily recomend this book to others as the start is quiet boring in my opinion. Later it gets better as said before but you will have to wait a long time. I prefeard my first book that was the inspriation for "The Blindside." It had more character and was less depressing. I also read the intro to the this book, thinking it was about Mt. St. Helen.
