When watching president Obama's speech i was greatly disappointed with how he portrayed the U.S. When it comes to politics i'm more in between the republican and democrat parties so my opinion comes from mere observation. Obama's speech was very nationalistic in his belief in America as a super power, however it came off arrogant. Not only in this address to the nation but in many interviews he stated that the only targets Syria can hit are women and children, and that they are no threat to the U.S. If I have learned anything from my four years at this school i have learned that in a fight, if you truly want to seek peace, you don't insult your opponent unless you want to get slapped. In the case with Syria this means that unless we want another 9/11 to happen we should stop demeaning the countries that are "lesser" than us and start working with them to figure out a solution.
